We encourage Listing owners to fill out their Listings as completely as possible, in order to extend their customer reach.

Business Details

Listing owners can provide various details to help website users make better-informed decisions.

The following details are available to all Listing owners, regardless of their Listing package.

  • Name
  • Tagline
  • About
  • Services
  • Amenities
  • Logo or Headshot
  • Email Address (Not publicly viewable)
  • Region
  • Location (Map / Driving Directions)
  • Open Hours
  • Related Listings

Built-in Contact Form

All Listings include a built-in contact form so people always have an easy way to reach out to Listing owners.

The email address used when signing up for The Barbers Guild, will be used as the default recipient address, but this can be changed at any time, by editing your account details.

Map Locator & Directions

Barbers and Barbershops can have their address shown for quick reference. Additionally, that location will be shown on a map, providing quick access to directions for customers.

Ratings & Reviews

Listing owners can build up their reputation on The Barbers Guild, by accumulating positive ratings and reviews from customers. That said, everyone has to start somewhere and may not have their reputation built up.

Ratings and Reviews are always moderated and can only be submitted by registered users of The Barbers Guild.

Logo

Listing owners can include a Logo, to bring their own branding into their Listings. For those that have a Listing Package including Personalized Listing Support, we can help you get your Logo in place at no additional cost.

Direct Contact Info

To help people easily reach Listing owners and to help get Listings found in search engines, NAP (Name, Address, and Phone Number) is critical information.

While including a Name is a given, Listings can contain the following information, in an actionable format (ex. click-to-call) where possible, to make things even more convenient for users of the platform. 

  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Website

Social Media Links

Links to Social Networks can be added to Listings. When a link is added the name of the network and the corresponding icon is automatically added. If someone chooses to click on one of the Social Networks, that network’s website will open in a new browser tab, so users can stay on the Listing.

Embed Video

Listing owners can include a link to one of their online videos (e.g. YouTube), which in turn embeds the video into their Listing.

Member Only Special Offers

Members gain access to Special Offers for services, products, and more. We are always on the hunt for strategic partnerships in order to bring more value to the community.

Booking Integration

Acuity offers an easy but powerful solution that allows your current and potential customers to schedule an appointment with you. These appointments can sync up with your Google, Office 365, Outlook.com, Outlook or Apple iCloud calendar.

For Listing owners that have Acuity set up on their end, as well as a qualifying Listing package, they can easily add booking functionality to their Listing by simply copying and pasting in their Acuity profile link.

Note: For those that have a Listing package including Personalized Listing Support, we can help you get Acuity added to your Listing and answer questions at no additional cost. If you would like to hire us to assist with the actual set up of your Acuity account, you can hire us by scheduling an appointment using Acuity.

Link To Your Website

Those with a qualifying Listing package will be able to link directly to their own website, from their Listing. This allows your organization to get even more exposure and run visitors through your own sales funnel if desired.

Image Gallery

Image Galleries are essential for showcasing services, products, and more. Up to 6 images can be uploaded to your gallery, for those with a qualifying Listing package.

Your image gallery also serves as your Listings cover image. This is the area at the top of your Listing that helps to quickly showcase what your Listing is about.

For those who have purchased a qualifying Listing package, we offer 30-minute consultations to assist you with your Website. We cover elements such as design, optimization, security, maintenance, ongoing support, etc.

Search and Listing Prominence

Search Prominence
Your Listing will appear above all standard (i.e. non-Featured) Listings in search and the only Listings that are given more prominence are Promoted Listings.

Listing Prominence
Your Listing will appear, for a time, on our home page, a custom regional page, and a custom category page, giving it greater exposure.

Personalized Listing Support

For those with a qualifying Listing package, we will work with you, one-on-one, to make your Listing the best it can be.

Listing Fields

Name

This is a required field.

In 52 characters or less, add a Name to help draw attention to or identify yourself, your brand, a service or a product. Include any of your keywords if they fit naturally, as this is good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Tagline

This is an optional field.

In 68 characters or less, add a Tagline to help draw attention to or identify yourself, your brand, a service or a product. Include any of your keywords if they fit naturally, as this is good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

About

This is a required field.

Using a minimum of 120 characters, add details to help draw attention to or identify yourself, your brand, a service or a product. Include any of your keywords if they fit naturally, as this is good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Services

This is a required field.

Services (i.e. Categories) are critical to the success of presenting your Listing throughout the website (e.g. Category pages) and having it show up accurately in search results.

If your Service isn’t listed, please select any Service to get started and let us know of any Services we can add to the platform for you.

Logo

This is an optional field.

Photos must be 600KB or smaller and for best results, should have square dimensions and be at least 160 × 160 pixels.

Image Gallery

This is an optional field.

Your image gallery also serves as your cover image, when viewing your full listing page, so it’s important for your images to be high-quality.

Upload up to 6 images that are 600KB or smaller and for best results, gallery images should be 1980 x 1042 pixels and have a landscape orientation (i.e. wider than taller).

If gallery images are not added, we will apply a default cover image with our branding. Let us know if we can help in this area.

Introduction Video

This is an optional field.

You can upload a video to services like YouTube or Vimeo and paste the link here.

Phone Number

This is an optional field.

If you supply your Phone Number, your Listing will not only display it, but it will also provide Click-to-Call functionality for customers.

Listing a Phone Number accurately and consistently across all online platforms is critical for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Contact Email

This is an optional field.

If you want to have email sent to an address other than the address you used when creating your Barbers Guild account, you can use this field to specify a different address.

Website

This is an optional field.

Enter your website, without the “http://” or “https://” portion, as we will add that for you automatically.

Social Networks

This is an optional field.

Providing links to Social Networks can improve online presence overall and increase customer engagement.

Region

This is a required field.

Regions are critical to the success of presenting your Listing throughout the website (e.g. Regional pages) and having it show up accurately in search results.

For your Region, choose the major city that is closest to the location of your organization. If your Region isn’t listed, please select any Region to get started and let us know of any Regions we can add to the platform for you.

Location

This is an optional field.

If you want to have your business shown on various maps throughout the platform and/or provide driving directions to potential customers, this field is required.

Open Hours

This is an optional field.

Filling in your Open Hours is a good idea, as that information can help reduce repeated inquiries as to when your business is able to provide services.

Acuity Booking Profile

This is an optional field.

If you use Acuity to schedule appointments or would like to start, you can enter your scheduling link in this field, which in turn, embeds your Acuity availability within your Listing.

Related Listing

This is an optional field.

If you have other Listings that are currently published on The Barbers Guild, you can specify those here.

Amenities

This is an optional field.

Amenities (i.e. Tags) are like keywords that help your Listing show up accurately in search results.

If your Amenity isn’t listed, please select any Amenity to get started and let us know of any that we can add to the platform for you.
