From 2019 to 2021, she worked voluntarily as a psychologist at the NCO "Nestoras" and the "Smile of the Child", where she provided psychological support to children facing challenging circumstances. Her voluntary work highlights her strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of those most in need.
Currently, she works as a CBT Psychotherapist at the Institute of Behavioral Research and Therapy (IBRT) in Athens, Greece. In addition to her work at the IBRT, she also owns a private practice in Athens, offering therapy to individuals seeking mental health support. Katerina’s private office provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges.
Katerina’s diverse academic and professional background allows her to approach therapy from a comprehensive, holistic perspective. She is a graduate of the University of Wales, where she earned a BSc in Psychology (Upper 2nd class honours, Division 1), and holds an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Sheffield. Her studies in cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and executive functions have equipped her with a deep understanding of the brain and its impact on behavior.
In addition to her academic qualifications, Katerina has completed training in Medical Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is also currently pursuing a Postgraduate Training in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy (CBT) at the Institute of Behavioral Research and Therapy. This combination of training in cognitive neuropsychology, medical psychology, and CBT enables her to view mental health from multiple angles, blending both scientific and emotional approaches to create a holistic therapeutic experience.
Her belief in treating the mind and soul as interconnected parts of the self sets her apart from more traditional methods that separate them. Katerina’s unique approach integrates cognitive, emotional, and psychological aspects, ensuring a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of her clients' needs.
A hallmark of Katerina’s practice is her commitment to continuous self-improvement. She not only invests in the development of her professional skills but also actively engages in her own psychotherapy. By attending therapy herself, Katerina ensures a safe and ethical therapeutic relationship between her and her clients. This ongoing process reflects her willingness to grow both professionally and personally, enhancing the therapeutic environment she creates for her clients.
Katerina is committed to making therapy accessible to those who need it. She offers both in-person sessions at her private office in Athens and online sessions for clients who prefer or require remote care. As a testament to her client-centered approach, Katerina offers the first session free of charge, allowing individuals to explore the therapeutic process without financial pressure.
Katerina’s academic journey has been marked by excellence. She was awarded an International Baccalaureate (IB) scholarship based on her outstanding academic performance, showcasing her intellectual rigor and dedication to her field.
